Joomla and Seo

I have installed Joomla for our website. It is running well and makes it easy to add or edit its contents. I wish I had this on my other site too!

But one thing I was dissatisfied was the url. It was in Joomla-speak, even after enabling SEO friendly in the configuration. The url was displayed as something like this: blog/category/11/12 and I wanted it to display as /products/name-of-product. The latter being more 'search engine friendly'.

After googling about, I found and installed the OpenSEF component. It made the links the way I wanted it, but every page was turning into a 404. Panic! I don't want to re-install Joomla from scratch!

Thankfully I found the answer here and it worked like a charm.
